Ca l'Arnau: Costa Brava area

Believed to have been built on the foundations of a Roman Villa, this huge country house was purchased by the current owners in 2002, who spent five years restoring it taking great care to maintain traditional features of the old “Masia” whilst incorporating modern comfort facilities.

The property is conveniently situated on the outskirts of Girona, a mere 10 minutes drive to the centre of the city, with its numerous shops and restaurants as well as its fabled old town and impressive cathedral. The nearest Costa Brava beaches are a 30 minute drive.

There are great walks around the property grounds that total around 6 hectares, and there is even a river that runs through the estate, with 150 yards of exclusive fishing frontage.
Inside, the most striking features are the very generous proportions of all the living space. The whole house feels light, airy and very spacious.

Small to medium sized weddings and events are permitted and the location of the Masia close to Girona and the Costa Brava makes this an ideal venue for your wedding celebrations.

Spread over two floors the house has a total of eight bedrooms, three on the ground floor and five on the upper floor. Most of the bedrooms are large and can accommodate extra single beds if needed.

Bedroom 1. Spacious suite with small double bed 1.8m x 1.35m. En-suite bathroom with tub and incorporated shower.

Bedroom 2. Small double 1.9m x 1.5m and a single bed. Ceiling fan.

Bedroom 3. Double bed 2.0m x 1.5m. Ceiling fan.

Bedrooms 2 & 3 share a large bathroom with tub and separate shower.

Bedroom 4. Double bed 2.0m x 1.6m. Ceiling fan.

Bedroom 5. Double bed 2.0m x 1.6m plus single bed. Ceiling fan.

Bedrooms 4 & 5 share a bathroom with shower.

Bedroom 6. Double 1.9m x 1.45m with en-suite bathroom with shower. Ceiling fan.

Bedroom 7. Is a large dormitory type room split into two halves and containing a double bed 1.9m x 1.5m and a total of four single beds. En-suite bathroom with two showers. Ceiling fan.

Bedroom 8. Large suite with small double bed 1.8m x 1.35m and two single beds. En-suite bathroom with tub and incorporated shower.

Living areas

Spacious kitchen with seating around a large breakfast table for 12 people. Open fireplace suitable for grilling, dishwasher, double ovens, microwave, stainless steel appliances.

Dinning room with table and chairs for up to 12 people.

Large galleried living room with space for 10/12 people to recline in comfort in front of a wood burning stove.

Household Amenities

Fully equipped kitchen with hob, ovens, dishwasher, fridge freezer. BBQ, CD/DVD player, washing machine. Ground floor WC.

Outside

Large enclosed patio with mature orange trees (35m x 25m) suitable for entertaining anything up to 100 people. Under the barn there is a table that seats in excess of 20 people. Ideal space for dining al freco and great area for kids to play and run around-there are 2 gates which can be locked for child security. The upper level of the barn has a number of hammocks and is a great place to chill out.
Fenced 12m x 6m swimming pool. Shower and toilet room close to the pool. Plenty of lawn for games such as badminton and cricket.

Locally based we offer a free concierge service to all of our clients. We can help arrange a whole range of extra services including securing tables at top restaurants and private chefs to cook for you at the villa. We can help plan itineraries, suggest excursions such as a day trip to Cadaques and help with car hire/airport transfers if needed.
