Mas Nicolau: Costa Brava area

The owners of Mas Nicolau have spent five years comprehensively restoring this 18th century Catalan Masia into without doubt one of the best equipped and stylish properties in the region. No expense has been spared and it is clear to see that a lot of time, love and hard work has been invested into making this a premium Masia perfect for family vacations and reunions. It is also the perfect Girona wedding venue for small to medium sized weddings and events. For groups of more than 20 people a second nearby eight bedroom house can be also rented bringing total capacity up to around 40 people.

Further improvements were carried out in 2020 including the creation of office facilities which means that Mas Nicolau is a great option for your Costa Brava company getaway or retreat. A massage room, sauna, home cinema room and gym have also been added.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

Each of the spacious eight en-suite bedrooms are equipped with brand new beds and quality mattresses and offer a mixture of showers or tubs. Hair dryers and complimentary dressing gowns are supplied in each bedroom as is a safe. All beds are doubles although some can be made into two seperate singles.

Bedroom 1 is on the ground floor and is wheelchair accessible. The remaining seven bedrooms are on the middle floor.

There are also four extra single beds (2.0m x 0.9m) and a baby cot available which can be added to any of the bedrooms.

Living Spaces

The house contains two main living spaces, one on the ground floor and the other on the upper floor. The middle floor consists of the seven bedrooms.

The ground floor comprises of a central reception area with a vaulted Catalan ceiling. On one side is the spacious kitchen with large central island and dining room with a large table and chairs for 20. On the other side one finds a large common living room area with plenty of comfortable sofas, fireplace and flat screen TV. There's also a great Bar area with pool table, a games room and heated indoor Jacuzzi with loungers and a WC. The bar and living room both have great countryside views and direct access to the garden.

The main focal point of the upper floor living room is the Grand Piano surrounded by sofas and chairs. There is also an adjacent library space ideal for laying back and relaxing.

There is a large laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer on the middle floor.

Outdoors

The main feature of the garden is the huge 14m x 6m salt water swimming pool which includes a built in shallow paddling pool for babies and young children. The pool is also fenced for extra security and has a outdoor changing room with WC and shower. Next to the pool is a large BBQ and bar area with table and chairs for outdoor dining. Dishwasher and refrigerator with ice making facility. There's also a chill-out area with tables and chairs and plenty of lawn where it is possible to errect a Marquee. The garden has an extensive lighting system so as to enable full usage of the outdoor areas during the evening and night. Padel tennis court.

The house is equipped with high speed fibre optic internet. 10 smart TV's throughout the house - living room, dining room and one in each bedroom. Ambient music system and bluetooth for all common areas. Bar area with billiard table. Baby cot and high chair. Washing machine, tumble dryer and iron. Two dishwashers and three refrigerators, freezer, blender, microwave, toaster, juicer, oven, two coffee machines. Indoor Spa towels, outdoor pool towels. BBQ with stainless steel grills, incorporated bread/pizza oven.

Locally based we offer a free concierge service to all of our clients. We can help arrange a whole range of extra services including securing tables at top restaurants and private chefs to cook for you at the villa. We can help plan itineraries, suggest excursions and help with car hire/airport transfers if needed.

Distances

Less than 10 minutes to the nearest town of Banyoles which has a charming lake and weekly market. 15 minutes to Girona, 40 minutes to the Costa Brava beaches, 45 minutes French border and 1 hour Barcelona.
