During the 1960's and 70's the house belonged to Salvador Dali's private secretary and throughout the house and grounds Dali's influence is clear to see from signed terracotta tiles in the central atrium to unusual sculptures hidden amongst the pine trees in the surrounding grounds.

Living Spaces

Originally designed in the early 1960's by a well-known American architect the house has become a reference in architecture. Combining modernity, simplicity and a high level of comfort with influences of both Mediterranean and Californian styles from the 1950's. With minimalist spaces, transparency, sea views, and the use of authentic and local materials all make this a simply unique villa rental opportunity.

Outdoors

Set in a total of five acres the extensive grounds offer a multitude of terraces, patios and seating areas. There is also a private infinity swimming pool. Two outdoor grill plates, one close to the main kitchen and the second located close to the pool where there is also a fridge and large outdoor table and chairs for outdoor dining. Throughout the grounds one will be constantly discovering new nooks and crannies and coming across unusual sculptures amongst the pine clad grounds. One of the more unusual features is a pet cemetery where the eccentric previous owners buried their pets amongst which included three Ocelots.

Household Amenities

Fully modernised during the reforms spanning 2017/18 the house offers state of the art air conditioning/heating and Wifi throughout. Brand new fully equipped kitchen including induction hob, electric oven/grill, microwave, two dishwashers, two wine fridges, two large fridge/freezers, two nespresso coffee machines plus a coffee percolator, toaster, juicer and ham slicer machine.

Concierge Services

Locally based we offer a free bespoke concierge service to all of our clients. We can help arrange a whole range of extra services including securing tables at top restaurants and private chefs to cook for you at the villa. We can help plan itineraries, suggest excursions and help with car hire/airport transfers if needed.

Distances

Two minutes' walk to the nearest beach. Five minutes' walk to the beach of Port Lligat and Dali's house museum. Cadaques 15/20 minutes' walk. Girona 1 hour, Barcelona 2 hours.

Arrival day: generally from Saturday to Saturday during the high season, but flexible whenever possible.

The happiest days of our lives

In Villa Cadaques my husband and I celebrated his 60th birthday and our 30 years together. We celebrated our "half life" with family and friends, a colorful mixture of all ages, philosophers, artists, and hardcore business types, coming from distant corners of the world together. From the moment we arrived the amazing beauty of the place filled all of us with a sense of wonder and peace. Before we got there Richard from Charming Villas worked with us to imagine a great stay and Yacine and Susanna made sure that our time in the villa was worry free. We could focus on our time together and we did. Cadaques and Port Lligat were delightful but it was hard to get anyone to want to leave the villa. Snorkeling off the cliff, cannon balling in the pool, a cava on one of the many quiet terraces, the days turned into gentle evenings with excellent food and just a bit more wine. I smiled so much my face hurt and all of us agreed that these were some of the happiest days of their lives. We'll cherish the time we had together--what better gift could we have had.

Villa Cadaques was fabulous and perfect. All of your recommendations added to the splendor of our trip. Lee Pennington and Moises were both amazing. Lee’s meals were a delight. He was an absolute delight to work with. Moises was a fun experience. Jordi the photographer did a great job of our family pictures.
The house itself was a bit challenging to safely sleep as many little ones as we had as we couldn’t use some of the bedrooms with outside doors but it all worked out and everyone had a great time enjoying the view, the house, and just everything. Yassine and Claudia were terrific too. Yassine helped set us up with a boat trip and a taxi and took our housekeeper to the bus station too.
