Colera is a small coastal village which moves at a different pace to the larger and busier costal towns such as Cadaques, Tamariu and Begur. It’s a quiet little beach town, loved by both local and international devotees who return each year for its tranquility, pristine waters for snorkeling and scuba diving, and proximity to the Alt Emporda region and its many historic villages and gastronomic gems. Extensively renovated in 2019 to very high specifications Villa Alegria is stunning. We fell in love with the house the moment we stepped through the front door. After almost 20 years in the Costa Brava luxury villa rental sector we, at Charming Villas, know what people look for and this property has it all. The house itself is spectacular, comfortable, fully air conditioned, practical and child-friendly. The spacious main living area comprises of a state of the art and fully equipped kitchen with long central Island with bar stools. A second Island for food preparation and all the crockery and glassware one could ask for. Then there is a long dining table for 12/14 people and finally a comfy seating area with home cinema projector. Sliding glass doors the whole length of the living room give easy access to the outdoor terrace and garden.

The ground floor also has an airy entrance hallway and access to the large garage, a laundry area, a walk-in pantry with extra side-by-side fridge and freezer, and a guest bathroom (which can also be accessed directly from the outdoors). Stairs lead to the upper floor where one finds the five bedrooms. The large main suite has breath-taking sea views, Super King size bed, bathroom with shower and stand-alone tub and an adjoining room currently used as an office space. The other bedrooms are in one wing of the house and comprise of a King size ensuite and three other bedrooms which share one bathroom. There is also another empty bedroom here which is currently used as a fitness room.

Outdoors the 11m x 6.5m swimming pool takes centre stage. Fermob dining table and chairs, sun loungers and comfy outdoor sofas give various seating options. Down below the infinity pool is a Mediterranean garden with aromatic herbs and flowers and a garden bench from where to soak in the views. Outdoor hot and cold shower.

This part of the Costa Brava is great for walking and cycling and you have various untouched beaches within reach. The owners know the area well and will provide a list of the best-kept secrets on where to eat, where to swim, and where to hike, so that even if it´s your first time here, you´ll be plugged-in from the get-go.

Bedroom 1. Master suite with 2.0m double bed. Bathroom with shower and stand alone tub. Connecting morning room/office.

Bedroom 2. King size double 1.8m with ensuite bathroom with shower.

Bedroom 3. Queen size double bed 1.6m

Bedroom 4. Queen size double bed 1.6m

Bedroom 5. Children's room with double bunkbeds and two additional trundle beds if needed.

All bedrooms have air conditioning and closet space. Bedrooms 3, 4 and 5 share a bathroom with shower. There is also a guest shower room on the ground floor.

Large comfortable multi-purpose living area with children's play corner and drop-down home cinema screen. Dining table and fully equipped kitchen.

Outdoors

Nice garden enjoying unobstructed sea and beach views. 11m x 6.5m infinity pool. Plenty of seating, sun loungers and two large parasols. Outdoor hot and cold shower. Private access from the garden to the “camina ronda” for beautiful sunset walks along the cliff overlooking the sea and down to the beaches.

Distances

Short walk to the two beaches and seafront restaurants of Colera. 10 minutes to Llanca, 25 minutes Port de la Selva, 30 minutes to Figueres, 45 minutes Cadaques, one hour Girona and two hours Barcelona. The beautiful seaside town of Collioure (50 minutes away) and the picturesque village of Lagrasse in the Occitanie region of Southern France make for beautiful day or side-trips for some added exploring.
