This iconic house sits in a privileged location overlooking the pretty fishing harbour of Fornells, Begur. Originally dating from the 1960's, it enjoys unparalleled views of the harbour to one side of the house and the Mediterranean sea to the front . Spread over four levels this spacious villa is perfect for large groups looking for a luxury Costa Brava accommodation right on the water. Fully renovated in 2021, the owners have spared no expense furnishing this lovely villa from head to toe with brand new beds and mattresses with high quality Portuguese linens to luxury sofas, chairs and soft furnishings.
This stretch of coastline between the beaches of Aiguablava and Platja Fonda is one of the prettiest and most sought after areas along the whole Costa Brava. With both beaches and restaurants within walking distance the house ticks many boxes.
At street level there is a garage for two cars and the main entrance, which is on to the upper level of the house. At this level, there is an entrance hall and three suites, all with air conditioning.
The next level down comprises the large professional kitchen and dining room. The kitchen is rather special and perfect for catering large groups. With all the kitchen accessories one could imagine, a large marble-topped central island and a quirky antique walk-in refrigerated larder. There's also a snug breakfast cubby hole with table and chairs enjoying sea views. The kitchen also enjoys air conditioning, and conveniently, it can also be accessed directly from the garage to bring your shopping.
On this level there is also a spacious and comfortable living room with direct access to a terrace which enjoys unimpaired sea views and air conditioning.
The lower level is where the other five bedrooms are found. Also on this level is where one finds the laundry area and a WC. Stairs lead down to the ground floor where one finds what could be described as the "piece de la resistance" which is a huge multi-purpose space with summer kitchen and 7m long dining table. Glass doors can be opened out on to the garden overlooking the harbour and also at the front of the house to the chill-out area adjacent to the pool.
This house is a Saturday changeover during the summer but flexible when possible.

Located beside the small marina of Fornells, on the spectacular coastline of Begur, this property enjoys a privileged position by the Mediterranean, surrounded by rocky shores and beautiful coastal scenery. The famous Camí de Ronda passes nearby, connecting the hidden coves of Fornells with Platja Fonda and Aiguablava. The historic centre of Begur is just a short drive away, while other picturesque beaches and fishing villages along the southern Costa Brava are also within easy reach.
Beaches & coastal landscapes
- Port de Fornells & the Camí de Ronda: The small marina of Fornells is surrounded by rocky coastline, clear waters and a collection of intimate coves. The scenic Camí de Ronda runs along this stretch of shore, linking Fornells with Platja Fonda to the north and Aiguablava to the south. It is one of the most beautiful ways to discover the rugged coastline around Begur.
- Platja Fonda: Around a 10-minute walk along the coastal path, this secluded cove lies beneath the cliffs of Begur and is known for its coarse, dark sand and unspoilt natural setting. Its sheltered position and distinctive landscape make it one of the most characterful beaches in the area.
- Aiguablava: One of the Costa Brava’s most iconic beaches, Aiguablava is famous for its fine sand, shallow turquoise waters and sheltered bay framed by pine-covered cliffs. It can be reached in around 20 minutes on foot via the Camí de Ronda or approximately 5 minutes by car.
- Tamariu & Aigua Xelida: Around 10 minutes away by car, Tamariu is a charming former fishing village centred around a beautiful sandy beach, while nearby Aigua Xelida is a smaller and more secluded cove surrounded by rocks and Mediterranean vegetation.
- The coves of Begur: Further along the coastline, Sa Tuna, Aiguafreda and Sa Riera offer a variety of beautiful Mediterranean settings, from traditional fishermen’s houses and rocky shores to broader sandy beaches. These well-known coves can be reached within a short drive of the property.
Historic villages & local heritage
- Begur: Around 10 minutes away by car, the historic hilltop town is dominated by the remains of its medieval castle. Its narrow cobbled streets, traditional stone houses and distinctive indiano architecture give it a unique character, while its elevated position offers beautiful views towards the Mediterranean.
- Calella de Palafrugell: Around 20 minutes away, this picturesque former fishing village is known for its whitewashed fishermen’s houses, small coves and charming waterfront. Its traditional maritime character makes it one of the most distinctive coastal villages in the Baix Empordà.
- Pals & Peratallada: These beautifully preserved medieval villages offer a glimpse into the historic inland landscape of the Baix Empordà. Pals is known for its fortified hilltop centre and Torre de les Hores, while Peratallada features winding stone streets, ancient walls and traditional medieval architecture.

Relaxing, beautiful house in front of the Mediterranean.
Beautiful house in a beautiful location. The Villa is perfect for a big family like ours, completely renovated,and very well kept. The decoration is a bit “basic” and “Scandinavian style” but this does not take away nothing from the immense charm of this magnificent house. It actually lets you concentrate on the sea, the sunset, the boats coming in and out of the little port nearby.. we will come back.
