Without doubt Casa Guillola is one of the most exclusive rental properties on the market along the whole of the Costa Brava. There's various reasons why the house qualifies for these lofty claims. There's the gorgeous undisturbed turquoise sea views, the large private swimming pool and jacuzzi but more than anything is the privileged and very special location with private access to the pristine little beach of Cala Guillola.
Cadaques is probably our favourite coastal town on the Costa Brava. Home to many well-known artists throughout the years and where Dali has left his indelible mark. There's a bohemian air to the place as well as many very good restaurants to choose from. However, Cadaques can get rather crowded during the summer months. Casa Guillola offers a sanctuary from the crowds and a place where to truly relax. Perfect for those seeking privacy yet only a 10 minute ride (by boat or car) from the town.
Within a plot of over 15,000m2. Built in the 1980's the seven bedroom house itself has a floor space of over 500m2. Within the grounds and close to the entrance of the estate a housekeeper lives in his own self contained house and takes care the garden and pool maintenance as well as being on call if needed. There's two car parking options; space for four or five cars close to the main entrance of the house and a new larger car parking space a little further from the house for up to 15 cars.
The house is spread over various levels and the main living areas are on the upper floor. The main salon is dominated by the huge open fireplace with its conical chimney hood and surrounded by sofas. Also in the salon is a wooden dining table and chairs and access through sliding glass doors to the upper outdoor terrace. A cute spiral staircase leads up to what could be described as a teenager or young adult hideaway. On one side is a single bed with extra pull-out single and adjacent bathroom with shower and sea views. On the other side above the fireplace is a lounge area with sofas, bookcases, a LP collection and sea views. Just off from the salon is a WC. Leading through from the salon is the fully equipped rustic style kitchen with breakfast table for four. The adjacent pantry contains a double stainless steel fridge, freezer, ice maker and oven.
From the kitchen there is access to a courtyard with table and chairs for 10 people. This area also has an automatic awning to offer shade from the sun if required. This area also has a BBQ and a functioning old style bread oven. This courtyard leads to the upper outdoor terrace and garden. Laundry room.
The adjacent wing contains the remaining six bedrooms spread over three levels. On the upper level is the master bedroom with wonderful unobstructed sea views. The bathroom has a tub and separate shower, twin sinks and bidet. The middle floor has three ensuite double bedrooms two of which have direct access to an outdoor terrace which in turn leads to the garden and pool. The lower level has a ensuite double with direct access to the garden and the remaining bedroom is a large multi-purpose room ideal for children/teenagers. The room has five single beds which can be moved around to suit needs, sofas and a projector. While all the other bathrooms in the house date from the 80's this bathroom is a new modern addition. The room also has access to a courtyard with table tennis table and gardens.
The large pool is immaculately kept and has a fun integrated jacuzzi. The pool area also has a summer kitchen with large fridge/freezer, ice machine, dishwasher and small vitro ceramic hob as well as a professional outdoor planxa. There's also two toilets and a shower.
The grounds contain many seating areas many of which many are illuminated. A path leads down to the beach where a private gate gives direct access to the beach itself. A wooden hut contains beach equipment including a paddle board and two kayaks which are for guests use. There is also a outdoor shower located here with hot (heated by solar panel) and cold water.

Locally based we offer a free bespoke concierge service to all of our clients. We can help arrange a whole range of extra services including securing tables at top restaurants and private chefs to cook for you at the villa. We can help plan itineraries, suggest excursions and help with car hire/airport transfers if needed.
Distances
10 minutes to Cadaques by road or by boat. Just over one hour Girona and two hours Barcelona.

I just wanted to write to thank you for your help and support this Summer.
Our family had an absolutely fantastic time at Casa Guillola.
The house was a perfect fit for our family size, outstandingly decorated and furnished and the combination of the pool and the beach was super convenient and very enjoyable.
We appreciated the small details such as being able to use the paddle boards and water toys as well as the thoughtfulness of having so many pairs of water shoes around!
I have a special gratitude for Daniel, who was simply outstanding. He' s a true gem and our entire family miss him already. His meals were delicious and fresh, everything we like. I cannot say how much of a positive addition he was on our stay.
We tried to leave the house in the best possible condition, so let me know if anything was amiss (we broke 3 glasses over the stay, which we told Daniel, but otherwise nothing to report).
On the constructive feedback mode:
- the Jacuzzi needs some attention: it was gurgling a lot and had a few loose tiles. We mostly didn't use it as the water temp was the same as the pool anyways, but it needs some TLC.
- Although we absolutely loved Daniel's impromptu's style of meal prep and were VERY happy with all his creations, I cannot help but think this was a lot of work for him. Perhaps it might be easier to come up with menus for the week (even if they end up changing) and perhaps agree on a day where he can take a break. We would have been happy to order food for one day. He worked extremely hard during our entire stay, hence why I say this. Some advance list would help set expectations for your future guests.
In some of our other rentals experiences we often receive a short bio about the staff and a list of what to expect in terms of meal prep / and or extras (such as cocktail prep etc).
This is very minor and not at all a criticism, but I know Daniel wants to improve the overall experience.
