This house, if not the most exclusive on the Costa Brava is certainly up there among the very top elite private residences available on the rental market in Catalonia.
There's various reasons why i make this lofty claim. One - the location. Aiguablava is arguably the most sought after part of the central Costa Brava and this house is bang right on top of the beach. No other house is closer or has better views. Unbeatable.
But it is not just the location. The private grounds are breathtaking. Maintained with great care by the on-site housekeepers you have 180 degree unobstructed sea views. You have two heated pools to choose from, private direct access to the coastal path and beach and restaurants of Aiguablava. There's a good sized covered porch with a selection of seating and dining areas, a top of the range BBQ and a Petanque piste.
Now we come to the house itself. You may be mistaken in thinking that from the outdoors it doesn't look anything too special. The original house dates from the 1960's and when the current owner applied for planning permission the main structure of the house had to remain. However indoors the house oozes class and high end interior design offering an exquisite living experience.
There's all kinds of adjectives i could use to describe how good the interior is but suffice to say it is very very good! The owners have spared no expense and have created a truly beautiful house using only top quality materials and furniture as well as a collection of unique art pieces.
Upon entering through the main door to the house one is greeted to a splendid central curved, almost sculptural, staircase. Neutral tones radiate a certain calmness and tranquility.
The house is constructed over three levels. The middle floor with various living rooms with direct access to the gardens. The spacious kitchen with original vintage La Cornue range. The upper floor with four ensuite bedrooms and the lower floor with gym, hammam and games room with drop down projector and WC.
We have an indepenent three bedroom annex which is included when you take the main house and this is listed separately on the Charming Villas website.
New on the rental market this is a rare chance to enjoy top end luxury very few get to experience. Suitable for multiple families with children or extended family vacation on the Costa Brava.
Housekeepers live on site and are responsible for gardening, cleaning and security. For an extra fee they can also do grocery shopping and cooking.

Nestled beside the beautiful Aiguablava cove, this property enjoys an exceptional location for discovering one of the most iconic stretches of the Costa Brava. The surrounding area combines crystal-clear Mediterranean waters, pine-clad cliffs, secluded coves and spectacular coastal paths with the historic villages and cultural heritage of the Baix Empordà. Aiguablava is renowned for its turquoise, shallow waters and sheltered setting, while the Camí de Ronda provides some of the most beautiful coastal scenery in the region.
Beaches & coastal landscapes
- Aiguablava: One of the Costa Brava’s most famous coves, with golden sand, exceptionally clear turquoise waters and a sheltered bay framed by pine-covered cliffs. The beach can be reached within a few minutes on foot from the property along the Camí de Ronda.
- Camí de Ronda from Aiguablava to Platja Fonda: A spectacular coastal trail following the shoreline between Aiguablava, the small coves around Fornells and the wild Platja Fonda, with beautiful sea views and Mediterranean scenery along the way.
- Platja Fonda: A natural and largely unspoilt cove beneath the cliffs of Begur, known for its rugged setting and clear waters.
- Aigua Xelida & Tamariu: Aigua Xelida is a small and intimate cove surrounded by rocks and vegetation, while nearby Tamariu retains the charm of a traditional fishing village beside a picturesque sandy beach.
- Sa Tuna: A charming pebble cove lined with traditional fishermen’s houses, surrounded by rocky cliffs and pine trees and lapped by clear Mediterranean waters.
- Sa Riera: A spacious sandy beach near Begur, offering a more open coastal setting and a different atmosphere from the smaller coves along the surrounding coastline.
Historic villages & local heritage
- Begur: Dominated by the remains of its medieval castle, this picturesque hilltop village is characterised by narrow cobbled streets, traditional stone houses and distinctive architecture linked to the indianos, local families who returned from the Americas.
- Calella de Palafrugell: A former fishing village that has retained much of its traditional character, with white fishermen’s houses, narrow stone streets and a beautiful waterfront framed by small coves.
- Pals: One of the best-preserved medieval villages in the Baix Empordà, with a beautifully restored historic centre, ancient stone buildings, defensive walls and the prominent Torre de les Hores.
- Peratallada: A spectacular fortified medieval village whose streets and buildings are built directly into the local sandstone, creating a distinctive maze of stone lanes, walls, towers and historic houses.
Further along the Costa Brava
- Sant Sebastià Lighthouse: Set high on the coast between Llafranc and Calella de Palafrugell, this iconic lighthouse enjoys sweeping views over the Mediterranean and one of the most spectacular coastal panoramas in the region.
