Study for Honey is sweeter than blood, Dali

It is now possible to admire this new acquisition in the Dali Museum in Figueres.  This work of art was acquired at the auction which took place in  London, on February, 9th, 2011 for a final price of £4,073,250. This oil on wood from 1926-1927 represents one the first surrealist works of the artist, and is a complete study for the painting of 1927 “Honey is sweeter than blood” – today disappeared.

The Study marks a process of stylistic change and a turning point in Dalí’s art, incorporating elements from the previous period, but also the first clear references to Surrealism.

It will be exhibited in the Treasure Room of the Theatre-Museum.
