Mas Cullera: Costa Brava area
Sleeps 10 | Bedrooms 5 | Bathrooms 3 | Size 275m2
Mas Cullera is a restored 200-year-old stone farmhouse, set in beautiful wooded hills with stunning unobstructed views.
It is just a short ride to the historic city of Girona and within easy reach of both the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean.
Mas Cullera is a casual country home, ideal for families with children of all ages.
The house has been completely restored in the traditional stone construction of the area, and has been outfitted and furnished to a high standard.
It has a spacious living room with fireplace, cosy and comfortable, perfect for family vacations; its practical open kitchen is a clever juxtaposition of new and old, where the modern units combine perfectly within a rustic vaulted room. The house has a traditional upstairs terrace, perfect for reading or relaxing while contemplating beautiful extensive views.
Outdoors, there is a great refreshing large pool, covered in sunshine, surrounded by peace and solitude.
The medium sized town of Anglès is also just few minutes down an unmade road. Set on the banks of the river Ter, and surrounded by luscious countryside, Angles was a stop in the itinerary of an old, now disappeared, narrow gauge train that used to link the ancient city of Girona with the old town of Olot. In recent years, this 57 km railway has been converted into a wonderful “Green Track”, perfect for cycling and walking.

Testimonials
We very much enjoyed our stay at Mas Cullera for two weeks in August 2013. The house is very quiet and secluded and is in a beautiful hilly location with an excellent view across the native forest to hills in the far distance. The location of the house provides reasonably quick access by car to the eastern Pyrenees, the beaches on the Costa Brava and Barcelona. The old city of Girona is only 25 minutes away by car. The house itself is very spacious and is well equipped. The pool is a large size one with spacious surrounding area. We particularly enjoyed the close-by area of extinct volcanoes (with real cones and calderas), the villages of Beget and Sta Pau in the Pyrenean foothills, the beaches and dramatic landscape north of Cadaques (on the coast near the border with France) and a fun day trip to Barcelona. The nearby old city of Girona also had some great clothes shops and many good restaurants. Its also worth a walk round the old part of Angles town. The old Greek and Roman town remains at Empuries and the beach there were also fascinating and in a beautiful location.

I would highly recommend the villa for a week, or two. The house itself is clean and comfortable with a spacious and cool sitting room and a good quantity of bathrooms. The pool and pool area is lovely. It is overlooked by a convenient and shaded eating-out area. And the outdoor table tennis table provided hours of extra amusement. The location is excellent with terrific views; virtually no other houses visible in any direction. Yet it is just 20 minutes from Girona and 1 hour from Figueres. In Girona, I would recommend Cafe le Bistrot in Pujada Sant Domenec. We also visited Besalu and Olot, both of which were great successes, as was the beach at Tamariu.

An absolutely fantastic week in this heaven of tranquillity and seculsion. Mas Cullera was comfortable and quiet in a perfect location for travelling locally. The pool was the centre of socialising and fun.

An oasis away from the hectic, the stress and the bustle. A wonderful view to settle the heart and mind, ease the frowned brow and restore us to our former selves.
