Cal Fonsu

17th century Catalan farmhouse situated in a beautiful plain. It is peaceful and secluded, yet only a 1,86 minutes drive to the nearest small town of La Bisbal d'Emporda, with shops, bars, and restaurants. The views from the house are unspoilt, out over the fields that surround it, and on to the hills of the Gavarres mountain range.

Fully restored with all modern conveniences, the house still retains its rustic charm, with characteristic stone walls, vaulted and beamed ceilings and terracotta tiled floors. The rooms are large and airy, with antique furnishings. The bedrooms all have ceiling fans.

The large, well maintained Mediterranean garden has a floodlit pool, Jacuzzi, table tennis, patios for sunbathing, reading etc. and a poolside open air dining area with barbeque The owners who live nearby, take care of the pool, garden and proper functioning of the house. They are on hand to help or give advice if needed.

Distances

It is situated on the edge of two small villages, 3Km from La Bisbal d'Empordá. It is inland from the coast directly between Palamos and Girona and about equidistant from them both (25km).It is a one and a half hour drive north of Barcelona and a 45 minute drive to the French border. 40 minutes from Girona airport (Ryan air).

The property is even better than the photographs on the site. It is really spacious, which made the stay enjoyable for everyone. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We liked visiting the surrounding villages and discovering the life of Salavador and Gala Dali. Some nice beaches are only 20 minutes drive, but mosy days we enjoyed the peaceful time at the villa and the swimming pool. I would recommend it to anyone.

The property is beautifully maintained and cared for and lived up to it's description. It is a quiet location perfect for families but yet within an easy car ride of many of the area's attractions, including the Costa Brava beaches, Barcelona, Empuries and Cadaques.
