Barcarola

This magnificent villa is situated on an elevated position near Begur, above the picturesque beach of Sa Riera. From its terraces, pool and many of the rooms there are far reaching views over the Medes Islands the long beach of the Platja de Pals and out over the Mediterranean.

Recently constructed in local stone and with some wonderful terrace areas, the villa offers 400m2 of accommodation built over two floors and a large basement / garage area.  A lift links the three floors.

The ground floor has a spacious entrance hall which leads to an vast living room (80 m2 ) which has separate sitting and dining areas and magnificent picture windows framing far reaching sea views.

The kitchen (35 m2) is very well-equipped and has a breakfast area, as well as a door that opens onto a furnished terrace.

On this floor there is a single bedroom with an adjacent bathroom.

On the first floor there are four bedrooms. There are two double bedrooms each with an en-suite bathroom; a twin bedded room and a double bedded room, which share a shower room.

The basement of the villa houses an enormous garage as well as a laundry room.

Surrounding the villa there are wrap around terraces, some covered and others allowing full sun, furnished for sitting or al fresco dining. Leading from the terraces are the attractive gardens, laid mainly to lawn, but with colorful shrubs and a gurgling waterfall. The infinity swimming pool is positioned within the garden to take full advantage of the views and has a furnished terrace area at one end.

Three of these rooms have a terrace with a wonderful sea views and the fourth a large window overlooking the forest and the castle of Begur.

Distances
Barcarola overlooks the small resort of Sa Riera which nestles amongst pine covered hills; here you will find a sandy beach and clear water overlooked by a waterfront with a selection of restaurants. The nearby old town of Begur, situated some seven hundred feet above sea level with superb views over the coastline, has an attractive town square with bars, restaurants, cafes and a couple of nightclubs. There is a market every Wednesday morning selling fresh daily produce. Enjoy a gentle stroll around the cobbled streets of this romantic town which shelters at the foot of a 16th century castle. The famed medieval villages of Pals and Peratalada are just a short drive and there are no less than five golf courses within easy reach of the villa.

We have just returned from our holiday at villa Barcarola. We were more than surprised by the great location of the villa. Not only the view was amazing but also the neighbourhood was quiet and nice. We loved the size, the spaciousness and cleanliness, what a beautiful relaxing place.  The pool was great and kept in great condition. The Costa Brava is such a great spot with many beautiful places to explore and enjoy.

Barcarola is in a great location with lovely views and the accommodation suited us just fine. It was a perfect place for relaxing and what beautiful beaches! We will certainly come back to the area as we really loved it.
